Google may save some users from Google Chrome
Android of their own clumsiness.

The Mountain View company is currently testing a confirmation pop-up for closing all open tabs.

A new feature to avoid clumsiness

The drama of seeing all the tabs close on Google Chrome following improper handling on Android is soon over. The Mountain View company has started testing a new feature that could prove to be oh so life-saving for some users. It displays a window warning them that all the tabs open in the browser will be permanently closed in case of confirmation. From there, the owner of the Android smartphone can cancel the action via a corresponding key or on the contrary validate it.

This feature is currently only available on the browser’s Canary channel. If you’re using Chrome Canary 100 and want to try it out, just enable the ” Close all tabs modal dialog from the chrome://flags page.

For the others, we will have to wait for a large-scale deployment, which will require a little patience. The novelty is still only in the test phase and could take another form in the future, or never see the light of day, which seems unlikely given its usefulness.
