Google will soon allow Chromium to predict certain user preferences.

A Google Chrome that will become more “intelligent” therefore, thanks to the technology of the machine learning.

Towards a smarter Google Chrome…

For a few years now, some websites have requested various permissions from the Internet user, including an automatic notification system that can quickly become (very) irritating for users. Very often, they tend to mechanically accept requests, and thus find themselves very quickly invaded by alerts from morning to evening.

Also, Google has decided to upgrade its Chrome browser, and to call on the machine learning to allow the latter to perform certain operations in place of the user, obviously based on the habits of the latter.

To help users browse the web with minimal interruptions, Chrome will predict when permission prompts won’t be granted based on how the user has previously interacted with similar permission prompts, and silence those unwanted prompts “, explains the American giant. The status bar will show whether notifications are allowed or blocked on the website currently being viewed.

… and adjusted in real time

This same machine learning process will also be used to translate web pages automatically. On the side of the mobile version of Chrome, the browser can also, in an automated way always, modify the shortcut present alongside the URL. For some users, Google Search will be displayed, for others, the “Share” button… The toolbar will thus be adjusted in real time, again depending on the user’s habits.

Our goal is to create a browser that is truly and continually useful, and we are excited about the possibilities that machine learning offers. “says Google. These new features should be included in the next version of Google Chrome.

Google Chrome

  • Very good performance
  • Simple and pleasant to use
  • A secure browser

Google Chrome no longer has to prove its qualities as a stable, fluid, fast, secure, ergonomic and multifunctional browser. Its interface and its mode of use are suitable for all audiences, inexperienced as informed. Criteria that still allow it today to dominate the market on a global scale, and to pursue development that inspires new web standards. But Chrome is not immune to a much less formidable aspect: the collection and commercialization of personal data by the browser which makes it a serious threat to the privacy of Internet users, all the more so when used in conjunction with other Google services. If respect for confidentiality must, for you, take precedence over the rest, we advise you to turn to Brave or Firefox, more reliable alternatives with satisfactory performance.
