The desktop version on Mac and Windows of Google Chrome
has just welcomed a brand new feature to streamline and facilitate your internet browsing: you can now have access to a side panel for quick access to bookmarks and favourites.

Google’s browser, with this feature, catches up with its competitors and finally offers a slightly more efficient service.

Resume reading more easily

For a few weeks, and in the wake of the deployment of its version 99, Google Chrome continues to be enriched with small additions that make all the difference. Already last February, the giant had added the “Journeys” feature in an update to facilitate searches in its browsing history, which until then had been very basic. For the past two days, the American giant has been deploying a one-click deployable sidebar wherever you are on Chrome.

A new icon has appeared at the top right of your window, between your account and the extensions icon. Just click on it and the column will open, collapsing the page you’re on next.

A reading list is available where, through the “Add to reading list” button, you can list the pages that you have yet to read and which will be kept in the bar. By hovering over them, two buttons appear: “Mark as read” and “Delete”, click on the one you want. You also have access to all your favorites and can thus manage them in this place, very practical when the list is very long.

Google Chrome

  • Very good performance
  • Simple and pleasant to use
  • A secure browser

Google Chrome no longer has to prove its qualities as a stable, fluid, fast, secure, ergonomic and multifunctional browser. Its interface and its mode of use are suitable for all audiences, inexperienced as informed. Criteria that still allow it today to dominate the market on a global scale, and to pursue development that inspires new web standards. But Chrome is not immune to a much less formidable aspect: the collection and commercialization of personal data by the browser which makes it a serious threat to the privacy of Internet users, all the more so when used in conjunction with other Google services. If respect for confidentiality must, for you, take precedence over the rest, we advise you to turn to Brave or Firefox, more reliable alternatives and satisfactory performance.
