It’s official, Google will remove several features from Google Assistant deemed “little used”.

Google Assistant: 17 features will be removed
At the turn of a publication relayed by The VergeDuc Dukellis, currently responsible for Google Assistant products, announced this Thursday, January 11, the imminent disappearance of several features.
In total, there are no less than 17 “underused” functions which will no longer be officially supported by Google Assistant. Starting January 26, users will be notified that the desired function will no longer be accessible after a certain date.
In fact, it will no longer be possible to read and control audiobooks on Google Play Books with your voice, to use your voice to send an e-mail, a video or audio message, or to reschedule an event in Google Calendar with your voice.

Pixel phones also affected
The Google application will also undergo some redesigns since “ the microphone icon will now trigger search results in response to your queries “. So you will no longer be able to use the microphone icon in the search bar to perform actions such as “turn on the lights” or “send a message”. So understand that the Google Pixel search bar will now launch voice search instead of the Assistant.
