Anyone who has had their house pixelated in Google Street View must now take action again. Because the internet company is sending its cars on photo safari again in many places in Germany.

Google Street View was launched in Germany around 14 years ago. The photo street service allows you to view panoramic images of streets online. This will give you a first impression of your destination in advance. However, the service was very controversial in Germany when it was introduced. Google therefore offered critics the opportunity to pixelate their house in the map service. Anyone who has made use of this must now take action again.
Because Google is in the process of updating all of the images. The company sent the Street View cars through Germany again in the summer of 2023. Camera rides are also planned for this year in numerous cities and communities. Google should soon have updated the entire inventory.
Photo inventory is updated, old objection is no longer valid
According to the Lower Saxony Consumer Protection Center, the objection from 2010 no longer applies to the new photos and must be renewed. You can submit the objection both in advance and subsequently – either by email or directly from Google Maps.
Good to know: Google automatically pixelates license plates and faces in Street View. So you don’t have to object if Google Auto took a photo of you while you were walking.
