When you’re hosting a meeting with people outside your company, it can be tedious to share a file with everyone in attendance. Google Drive solves this problem with a freshly announced feature. From now on, it will be possible to share a file via a Calendar event with a single click.
As the Workspace suite has gradually taken hold in our offices, many professionals have had to learn the joys of sharing a presentation or document to everyone in a meeting. For members of the same company, the manipulation is relatively simple, but it quickly becomes more tedious when you have to manually add all the people externally, whether they are customers or service providers.
Google understands this and has finally decided to resolve this problem in the most logical way possible. In a blog post, the Mountain View firm states that it will now be possible to add a file to an event planned on Calendar. In other words, once a meeting is scheduled, it will appear in search results when you want to share a specific Google Drive file.

Concretely, all you have to do is click on the share button of a Drive document, or on the three dots on the file icon for the usual search window to open. From then on, you can type the name you gave to the meeting in question in Calendar so that it appears. By clicking on it, all participants will gain access to the document. All you have to do is define their rights on the file (Read or Edit)

Of course, it is also possible to select only a few participants instead of all, in cases where this is necessary. This feature will soon be available to all Workspace subscribers, which is no surprise since it is primarily aimed at professionals.
