Gemini, Google’s conversational AI, takes a new step by opening up more to the French market. From now on, you will be able to interact and collaborate more effectively than before with the assistant.
A few days after announcing the arrival of Gemini on smartphones running Android 10, Google is today presenting a series of important updates for its conversational assistant. Concretely, these aim to make it more accessible and more powerful to users around the world. Among the most notable new features, we find the deployment of extensions in French, a new way to access Gemini from the Chrome browser and the extension of the mobile application to more languages and countries.
Gemini: Google simplifies gateways with its many services
Determined to tackle the French market, the Mountain View firm has just unveiled a set of new features for its conversational AI. Now, Gemini users can enjoy direct access to relevant information from a multitude of Google services and apps, including Gmail, Docs, Drive, Maps, YouTube, Google Flights and Google Hotels. This seamless integration aims to considerably simplify the search for information, but also collaboration.
Let’s take the example of a trip being planned. Gemini can now:
- Identify available dates in Gmail that work for everyone on the trip.
- Search for flights and hotels based on your chosen dates and destination.
- Find YouTube videos on travel preparations and necessary equipment.
- Summarize the packing list mentioned in a YouTube video.
Access to Gemini now easier in Chrome
Google is also introducing a new way to access Gemini from Chrome on desktop. Just type “@gemini,” followed by your query into the Chrome address bar, and gemini.google.com will open with a ready-made answer to your query.
In addition, the Gemini mobile application is now available in more languages and countries (including Spain, Japan, Portugal, etc.), allowing users around the world to use Gemini’s services where that they are found. However, it is important to note that the application is not yet available in France as we speak.
