On Reddit, some users have now found that they have access to new TV settings in the Google Home app with app version 2.62.1.9 on the Chromebook, for example. With these, you can not only turn on the device in question, but also select the volume, channels and image sources such as HDMI.
The innovations seem to be rolled out on the server side. Not all devices seem to have the new media control yet. It is therefore possible that you will not yet find new functions with your devices. Also, from the comments, the Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) already had these features.
