This is probably one of the big surprises of this 2023 edition of Google I/O. Adobe and Google announce that they are partnering to integrate Firefly with Bard, Google’s conversational AI, allowing the creative process to continue directly on Adobe Express. Firefly thus becomes Bard’s first partner for AI image generation. “Through this integration, both new and experienced users will have the ability to translate their creative ideas into their own words to generate images with Firefly from Bard.the statement said. Content that they can then modify and use easily on Adobe Express”.

The announcement of this partnership will give a boost to Firefly, whose recent announcement may not have created the enthusiasm expected by Adobe. Firefly will therefore have new arguments to compete with tools like Midjourney or Bing Image Creator, the artificial intelligence image generator offered by Microsoft based on an advanced version of Dall-E (the OpenAI generator).
Adobe takes the opportunity to report that a month after the launch of the beta version of Adobe Firefly, more than 70 million images have been generated by creators and that new features are expected in the coming weeks. One of the special features of Firefly, in addition to being powered by Adobe Stock royalty-free images, is based on the open source Content Credentials technology. Based on the principles of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI), it must “ensure the traceability and transparency of the images generated” in case of modification.
