Google I/O: soon an AI to personalize text messages according to your mood?

What if the AI writes inspired text messages for us that look just like those of a human? This may very soon be a reality with Google. Indeed, the 9To5Google site indicates that this new function, called Magic Compose, should soon be integrated into Google Messages.

The idea is to be able to rewrite messages according to one’s mood, or even in a more poetic way, like song lyrics. Artificial intelligence is used here to generate responses inspired by simple messages.

A new feature made official this week?

Judging from the screenshots posted by 9To5Google, selecting a pencil, placed to the right of the text in the message compose box, will bring up a menu offering you different styles, such as “formal” or “enthusiastic”. As for styling “lyrical”it generates a small poem from your message.

Thus, instead of “OK, I’ll move the van”Messages suggests “Of course I’ll move the van, I’ll do it right away, I’ll get it out of the way, so you can have some space” or “Okay, I’ll move the van, it’s not a big task, don’t worry, I’ll do it, I’m not one to forget to do it”.

This novelty, still in the experimental stage, could be officially unveiled at the annual Google I/O developer conference, which will take place on Wednesday May 10 in San Francisco. Unsurprisingly, this year, it is artificial intelligence that should be at the heart of Google’s main announcements.
