Google Play Store

In 2018, Google introduced dots on its Play store. These rewards granted with each purchase on the store can be used to obtain discounts. And it will soon be easier to consume them.

This is a little known or even completely ignored element by a large portion of Android device users. By downloading certain apps or making in-app purchases, Google awards us points. The balance is displayed in the store by tapping on the account profile. Each euro spent on the Play Store or from an application has the effect of crediting approximately one point (more exactly between 1.1 and 1.4).

Thus, with 999 points in our bag, it is possible to buy without paying a single penny an item sold for €9.99. But until now, you had to go through the user profile icon on the Play Store, then press “Play Points” > “Use”, select an item to buy and then press “Use points” to use this kitty. A tedious manipulation that will soon be lightened.

Indeed, the American firm will allow to consume the credit of points directly from the payment options when buying something. It will be possible to pay entirely in points or only in part (with the remaining amount by credit card, for example). The feature will arrive over the next few weeks.
