The latest Chrome update includes a feature that wants to change how cookies work, Google Messages could benefit from an encryption system and the Dolphin emulator will not finally arrive on Steam, this is the recap.
It’s recap time for Friday, July 21, 2023. On this summer’s day, we have an Internet browser that wants the skin of cookies, an email system that should soon be end-to-end encrypted, and a GameCube and Wii emulator that will never come to Steam. Ready? Let’s go !
Google Messages relies on encryption
Google will adopt the end-to-end encryption system called Messaging Layer Security (MLS) in Messages. A welcome novelty, the application is currently not protected. The concern with Messages is the interoperability between the different platforms, which this time seems to be settled. Soon, all your private conversations will really stay private!

Google declares war on cookies
Chrome browser update 115 does not bring any visible new features, but it could change a lot of things in the future. Indeed, it deploys a tool that will profoundly modify the collection of cookies. Google considers them in fact not very respectful of privacy (it’s ironic) and wants to group the data rather than collecting them individually. A way to protect Internet users… and to have a good image. With this update, it’s all marketing on the web that could change its face.

This famous GameCube emulator will not arrive on Steam
The developers of the Dolphin emulator, which runs GameCube and Wii games on PC, will ultimately not release their baby on Steam. Faced with threats from Nintendo, very picky about its intellectual property, they preferred to retreat. A victory for the Kyoto firm… a little less for the preservation of video games. It is difficult today to play flagship titles from both consoles, many of which have never been remastered.
