Better local news

This change currently only affects the desktop web version of Google News, probably the one that needed a facelift the most. polish. One of the points that Google insists on is the promotion and personalization of local news. A filter button allows you to add several locations to the local news section to keep informed about the regions, cities and towns that interest us.

Another new feature is the ability to add, delete or reorganize subject categories according to your interests, to obtain an even more relevant page of results and article suggestions.

The new Google News is already available

Google News on the web is also getting a section dedicated to fact checking more developed, the aim being to provide more context to the readers. The articles of fact checking are accompanied by the original source of the information as well as a “evidence-based assessment of independent organizations “.

To take advantage of the new Google News, simply go to the address “news.google.com/home” on your desktop web browser. The deployment to all users is not yet complete, you may have to wait a few hours or even days before accessing it.
