Google One: a VPN is coming, as well as alerts on your personal data

Google is updating its Google One plans with new features. Specifically, the search giant is rolling out a VPN and a new dark web monitoring feature for all Google One users.

Until now, Google’s VPN feature was only included in Premium 2TB plans, starting at €9.99 per month or €99.99 per year. From now on, the VPN tool will be available from the Basic offer of €1.99 per month for 100 GB. You can use VPN by Google One on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac – and you can even share access VPN with up to five people who are also part of your Google One subscription.

In addition to bringing Google VPN to more subscribers, Google is also launching a new dark web monitoring service. This new service will scan the dark web – access to which requires specialized tools, but where personal information is often sold and traded – for your personal information, including your name, address, email address, phone number, phone and your social security number. If information about you is found, Google One will notify you and tell you what action to take.

For example, in the United States, Google indicates that if a social security number is found on the dark web, its owner can alert the government of the theft and block its credit.

The dark web monitoring feature will start rolling out to One subscribers over the next few weeks.
