The new version of Google Photos will thus make it possible to display photos and videos in a list or in a grid, and to filter them by type. It will thus be possible to quickly access the various albums, favorites and other shared folders.
A more functional library
In addition to the classification, the import of new photos will be facilitated by the presence of a specific button. Images present on an external device (scanner, camera, etc.), from other cloud services or storage devices, can thus be integrated more easily.
The new content will then expand the library and the user will then be able to enjoy all of their photos and videos through the usual sharing and creation tools. The Memories function, acclaimed since its launch, will thus be enriched thanks to the addition of additional media.
Top ranked screenshots
It is currently already possible to automatically save screenshots, taken with a Pixel smartphone, to Google Photos. However, many users disable this feature to avoid mixing up their private photos and screenshots. Also, a new shortcut will now make it easy to find the various screenshots in a dedicated folder, even if the automatic backup function is disabled. This button will allow access to the most recent screenshots to avoid losing them.
A carousel of contextual suggestions will also allow you to crop a photo or copy text. Information from Google Lens may also be included. In general, future optimizations will make it easier to manage, search, share and edit multimedia content. The various new Google Photos will appear first on Android and will then be available on iOS.
