As the weekend approaches, Google has just announced new features for its application Picturesadded exclusively on Chromebook Firstly.

Over the next few months, the Mountain View company plans to roll out a wide assortment of new features for its Google Photos app. Discover now all that awaits you!

Google Photos is enriched with a video editor…

This is the main new feature announced by Google: the addition of a video editor within Google Photos. Indeed, from next fall, Chromebook owners will be able to use the application to make their vacation videos. Like traditional editing software, the Google Photos movie editor will make it easy to create projects from scratch, all from the elements you want to compile into your montage (clips, photos, music , etc.).

For the less experienced, Google will allow you to select a theme beforehand, and the application will then take care of creating movies from the chosen files. In any case, be aware that you will be able to take advantage of different parameters to personalize your montages by adjusting the contrast or the brightness. Finally, many effects will also be present, including Real Tone filters, in order to refine your creations as well as possible.

… and full of features

Over the next few weeks, Google Photos will be further incorporated into Chrome OS, integrating directly with the “Gallery” and “Files” apps on your Chromebook. For example, if you want to open a video from the “Gallery” application, then you only need a single click to edit it from the Google Photos video editor. Simple and practical.

So it’s clear that Chrome OS customers will now have a wider arsenal of apps for their edits. But note that in the coming days, the application will also integrate the possibility of adding wallpapers from your Google Photos albums, and that it will also allow you to choose between a light and dark theme (this feature does not concern only the Photos app but also your Chromebook theme).

Be that as it may, despite the arrival of a video editor, remember that Google Photos is not editing software per se. For those who really want to embark on more ambitious video editing projects from their Chromebook, Google announces that the LamaFusion application will soon be arriving. This is very useful, especially for the integration of graphics, transitions and effects of all kinds.
