App users Google Photos on Android devices will no doubt be delighted to welcome a feature as new as it is basic. Indeed, it is now possible to delete an image placed in an album (what a revolution)!

This was until now part of the rather incomprehensible oddities orchestrated by the American giant. Thus, it was effectively impossible to send a snapshot saved in a photo album to the trash from the Google Photos application via an Android device. It was necessary to go through the web version to directly carry out this operation which seems extremely banal on paper. Google has literally taken years to fill this gap…

And it’s still not perfect!

The option to delete an item included in an album under Google Photos therefore appeared. Unfortunately, the functionality is only valid for images stored in a private album and not for those cataloged within an album shared with other users. To clear snapshots from a shared album, it is necessary to search for them individually in the media library. A limitation that obviously does not exist on PC or even within the iOS version of the application… Which is quite absurd.

In short, if Google Photos is undoubtedly one of the best applications for managing our multimedia content on a smartphone or a touch pad, it is nonetheless not very instinctive in some of its aspects on Android.
