Google Pixel 6: bugs galore push users to switch to the competition

According to a study published by the analysis firm TradingPlatform, 36% of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro owners surveyed want to change their smartphone. What’s fault ? To the avalanche of bugs they encounter on the latest Google smartphones.

If according to the latest figures from Google, the Pixel 6 is the smartphone that has sold the fastest in the history of the firm, it is also the one that had the most complicated beginnings. Indeed, the first months of the career of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro were marred by a ridiculous amount of bugs.

The problems reported by users are diverse and varied, whether it concerns the screen, the calls, the Internet connection, the photo sensors or the network. Each month, a new bug appeared. We remember, for example, this concern which made the camera screen all green, or these bugs with the cellular or Wi-Fi network connection in April 2022.

In February, it was the fingerprint reader calibration tool that no longer worked for many Pixel 6 owners. In fact, it was impossible to use the reader to identify yourself and unlock your smartphone. That same month, the magic eraser feature caused the Photo application to crash for an unknown reason… In May 2022, a bug prevented the smartphone from vibrating correctly when receiving a notification. This issue has since been resolved via an update. Only, the reciprocal is not valid for all the bugs encountered by Pixel 6 and 6 Pro users.

Many users no longer want to keep their Pixel 6

However, as revealed by a study published by the analysis firm TradingPlatform, this is too much for sure. According to a survey of many Pixel 6 and 6 Pro owners, 36% of them say they are ready to switch to another brand. Edith Reads of TradingPlatform explains that Google’s latest smartphones seem to struggle to keep up with their rivals in terms of customer experience. It’s the least we can say, given the many bugs encountered by users.

We already know that Google is determined not to repeat the same mistakes, especially on the Pixel 6a, its next mid-range. Indeed, the manufacturer has for example confirmed that the Pixel 6a will use a new fingerprint sensor much more efficient than that which equips the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. As a reminder, the Pixel 6a is due to arrive in France on July 21, 2022.
