Google Pixel 6 (Pro): How to speed up the fingerprint sensor

HOW CAN I CLEAN MY ANDROID SMARTPHONE…

As is well known, the optical fingerprint scanner built into the Google Pixel 6 (Pro) under the display is not particularly fast. Here’s how you can speed it up.

Most modern top smartphones these days are equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that is installed under the display. Unfortunately, Google opted for an optical model for the Pixel 6 (Pro) that works slower and more insecurely than the competition.

But there is a setting that can noticeably speed up unlocking with the fingerprint scanner. The “better touch sensitivity” causes your display and thus the fingerprint scanner to react more responsively. We will show you step by step how to activate the setting.

Tip: Add the same finger multiple times

Another tip on how you can not only speed up the fingerprint scanner of your Pixel 6 (Pro), but also make it more reliable, is to save the same finger (e.g. your left thumb) two or three times. This ensures that the pixel recognizes your finger in all cases.

The disadvantage here is that you don’t have much room left for other fingers. Unfortunately, Android 12 only supports five fingerprints that can be saved at once. Therefore, you have to think about which finger you use most often to unlock and save it accordingly several times.
