Video streaming is part of the everyday evening ritual for many today. And of course film fans want to enjoy hit films and series in the best possible resolution and color depth. Unfortunately, owners of Google’s latest Pixel cell phones recently had to live with limitations.
As 9to5Google reports, the Google phones of the year 2021 have not been certified by Netflix for the HDR10 standard until recently. This means for owners of the Google Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models, HD and HDR10 content was not available.

For many owners of the “Android flagships” this is a real problem and reason enough to vent on Reddit. Now, however, the all-clear has been given, because Netflix has certified the models in question for HDR10 and is now listing them among the supported Google cell phones.
In order to be able to stream the HDR10 content, you have to observe a few requirements. On the one hand, the latest firmware must be installed, on the other hand, there should be a stable internet connection of at least 25 megabits per second and the streaming quality must be set to high.
