Google Pixel 8 Pro: a video shows an integrated thermometer in action

No, this has nothing to do with a kamoulox. According to a rumor, Google’s Pixel 8 Pro, the company’s future high-end terminal, could integrate a temperature sensor. The latter would be placed on the back, right next to the photo modules.

It is in a demonstration video spotted by 91 Mobiles that we learn that the Pixel 8 Pro could accommodate a health feature. Indeed, it seems that the American company has decided to include a thermometer, which would be able to take your temperature in just a few seconds.

The temperature sensor would take place under the flash and would therefore be on the back of the phone. The video posted by 91 Mobiles shows how it works. It would suffice to place the photo island very close to his forehead – without touching it –, to clear his temple, then to make a movement from the middle of the forehead to said temple. An operation that would take in all and for all less than 5 seconds. The result would appear after the smartphone vibrates. A gadget that would work with both humans and inanimate objects.

As practical as it is, it is impossible not to see the limits of this functionality. Up to what temperature will it be reliable? How far away from objects should you be? Could the potential heating of the smartphone impact the final results? So many questions that deserve to be asked and that Google will have to answer if it turns out that the thermometer is actually present on the final products. As for its usefulness… we let you be the judge.
