According to an insider, Google seems to have taken another look at the battery of the Pixel 8 (Pro). In addition, an Internet standard will also be updated.

  • The Pixel 8 Pro is said to have a battery with 4,950 mAh, which can be charged with 27 watts and wirelessly with 23 watts.
  • The basic model has a capacity of 4,485 mAh with a charging speed of 24 watts. The wireless speed is 20 watts.
  • Both models can probably use WiFi 7. The Pro model also has UWB support again.

We already got a lot of unofficial information about the Google Pixel 8 (Pro). For example, we know possible screen specs, camera innovations and know that the Pro model should have a temperature sensor. Now an insider follows up and also gives information about the battery and connectivity.

The insider spoke to Android Authority. According to him, we can expect a small improvement in the capacity and charging speed of the battery. In concrete terms, this means that the Pixel 8 Pro will probably have a 4,950 mAh battery that can be charged wirelessly with 23 watts and with a cable with 27 watts. With the basic model you get a battery with 4,485 mAh. You should be able to charge it with 24 watts or wirelessly with 20 watts. The Qi standard would also be supported by both devices.

There are also innovations in connectivity. Both versions can work with WiFi 7, which should ensure higher speeds with suitable setups. Ultra wideband should also be there again, but like the predecessor only in the Pro model.
