The leak of a supposed AnTuTu benchmark of the Tensor G4 SoC equipping the future Pixel 9 delivers results that should be taken with a pinch of salt.

After the images of the Pixel 9 and its variations, it is now the innards of the next Google smartphone which are the subject of an indiscretion. Screenshots published by Rozetked show an AnTuTu benchmark revealing the performance of different versions of the Pixel 9 equipped with a Tensor G4 processor.

Based on these images, the Pixel 9 scored 1071616, the Pixel 9 Pro 1148452, and the Pixel 9 Pro XL 1176410. In comparison, the Pixel 8 scored almost 900,000 and the Pixel 8 Pro 1142984 In its current state, the Tensor G4 provides a performance gain of around 15%. In other words, the Tensor G4 would be a little faster than the current Tensor G3, but not to the point that it really is in everyday use of the smartphone.

An 8-core Tensor G4

However, these results, which are not official, should be taken with some reservations. Indeed, the Pixel 9s used do not run on the final software versions and we can reasonably assume that Google will carry out numerous optimizations between now and the launch of this new range expected in the fall.

Comparative

Regardless, this leak reveals notable details about the 8-core configuration of the Tensor G4 SoC. It will be equipped with a Cortex-X4 Performance CPU clocked at 3.1 GHz, three Cortex-A720 Performance-Efficiency cores at 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A520 Efficiency cores at 1.95 GHz. The Tensor G3 has a 9-core configuration, but the frequencies of the G4 are higher.

A technological leap in perspective for the Pixel 10

According to previous leaks, the Tensor G4 would use the latest 4nm engraving process and FOWLP technology (Fan-out Wafer Level Packaging) from Samsung Foundry intended to improve energy efficiency and heat management. It is also rumored that from the Pixel 10 of 2025, Google will take charge of 100% optimization of the Tensor G5 chips and would rely on TSMC to burn the SoC with its 3nm process.
