Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold radically changes, leak details Pixel 9 in photos

The photos of the Pixel 9 taken by the Taiwanese regulatory agency have been published. They allow us to appreciate the new devices from all angles and especially the Pixel 9 Pro Fold which changes a lot.

Less than a month before their official presentation, the Pixel 9 continues to leak. If this continues, Google will not have much left to tell us about its new range on August 13.

After multiple videos, including some recent ones that allow us to appreciate the Pixel 9 Pro XL as a whole, we are now entitled to a batch of sized photos. They come directly from the NCC, the Taiwanese regulatory agency that lists Google’s range as follows: Pixel 9 (GUR25), Pixel 9 Pro (GEC77), Pixel 9 Pro XL (GZC4K) and Pixel 9 Pro Fold (GGH2X).

Among the salvo of photos relayed by Android Authority, we see above all for the first time the Pixel 9 Pro Fold from all angles.

A Pixel 9 Pro Fold that evolves drastically

An interesting fact since France should be entitled to Google’s new foldable smartphone, unlike its predecessor. A competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, in particular, it sees its selfie lens moved to a corner of the screen. Google is therefore not yet opting for a sensor under the screen like Samsung.

Another major change is that the phone’s rear camera module loses its longitudinal aspect, characteristic of Pixels since the Pixel 6. Here, it is reduced to a rectangular block that pays homage to the old bar with two black pills carrying the optics.

We also observe that the edges of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold screen seem reduced compared to the first generation. In addition, the fold also seems less visible. However, it is difficult to comment on this by only seeing photos. Finally, note that this new Pixel Fold appears completely flat and must therefore be able to open completely unlike its predecessor.

Battery and charging speed

As for the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL, the photos presented don’t tell us anything more than we already knew. But the NCC report isn’t just about photos.

It also lists actual charging speeds. Android Authority has added the Pixel 8’s numbers for reference. Nothing really seems to change, except the new Pixel 9 Pro XL which would benefit from 30 Watts of charging, compared to 25 Watts for the others.

Battery capacities are also listed. All models gain a few milliamp-hours, except for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, whose battery drops by nearly 170 mAh. In contrast, the Pixel 9 Pro XL has the largest battery, which is close to 5,000 mAh.
