The Google Pixel Buds Pro have received an equalizer via update.

  • The Google Pixel Buds Pro now have a configurable 5-band equalizer.
  • There are six presets for this
  • For the update you need the “Pixel Buds App”.

Google’s Pixel Buds Pro have received an update. Now you can adjust the sound of the in-ear headphones to your preferences using a 5-band equalizer in the settings.

The update requires a Google Pixel with Android 10 or another device with Android 6 or higher. You must have the “Pixel Buds App” installed. Google itself gives you six preset profiles:

  • Standard: For all audio content
  • Light bass: reduces the bass
  • Rich bass: strong bass due to stronger low frequencies
  • Balanced: Balanced sound for instruments
  • Clarity: strengthens vocals
  • Clarity: boosts the highs

Regardless of this, you can also make your own settings for the five frequency bands. In our test of the Pixel Buds Pro, we found the bass to be a bit too weak with active noise canceling. The equalizer could compensate for this shortcoming in the otherwise very good Google Pixel Buds Pro.
