Google Pixel: configure and activate emergency mode – here’s how

HOW CAN I PERSONALIZE MY ANDROID SMARTPHONE?

The Google Pixel phones offer an SOS mode. With this you can quickly make an emergency call in an emergency and notify your emergency contacts. This is how you set up the function.

Google gives its in-house Pixel phones new, exclusive functions every three months. One of them is the emergency SOS. With this feature, you can make an emergency call, notify your emergency contacts, and record an emergency video by pressing the power button five times in a row. Here’s how to set up the feature.

This is how emergency mode works

Emergency mode is available as part of the Emergency Information app. There you can activate the function and set what should happen after performing the gesture. You can use it to make an emergency call, share location information, etc. with emergency contacts, and record and save an emergency video.

To activate emergency mode, quickly press the power button five times in a row. Then a five-second countdown appears, with which you can still cancel the emergency call. After that, the call will start automatically. You can run a demo in the emergency settings.

In the following we will show you step by step how to activate the emergency SOS mode on your Pixel device. Please note that this feature is only available on Pixel 3 and newer.

Finished! The emergency SOS function is now activated and will be triggered as soon as you press the power button five times in a row. You can also set a loud alarm sound to be played when the function is triggered.

By the way, did you know that you can use a trick to speed up the fingerprint sensor of the Google Pixel 6?
