Google Pixel Fold (NotePad): its release date would finally be postponed

According to a source quoted by “The Elec”, the Google Pixel Fold (or Pixel NotePad), would have been slightly postponed for a probable release in 2023. While until then, everything led to believe that the 2022 vintage was the window of opportunity chosen by the group.

Google’s first-ever foldable phone — rumored to be called the Pixel Fold or NotePad — is probably one of the most anticipated devices in the coming months. But we will have to take our troubles patiently in view of its more or less regularly upset calendar.

Until then, several rumors and other elements put forward by leakers were betting on a launch of the Pixel Fold (NotePad) in 2022. TheGalox Twitter account even suggested that production of the device would begin in the third quarter, for a market launch at the end of the year.

A device not yet complete

Except that a source quoted by The Electric tends to show the opposite. There is even talk of a new delay on the initial schedule, which would logically drag the marketing of the Pixel Fold to the beginning of 2023.

A reason is even mentioned to justify this delay: the Pixel Fold “would not be as comprehensive as Google would like“. In the idea, the Mountain View firm therefore wishes to take its time in order to sell a successful, reliable and attractive product, and not to rush to make a mistake.

More important technical issues

A foldable smartphone has more significant technical issues, particularly in terms of the fragility of the screen and the strength of the hinge. The crease in the middle of the slab can also be annoying to hide.

According to the latest rumors, the main screen of the Pixel NotePad should have the same diagonal as that of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. On the other hand, its front panel should be slightly smaller to reach 5.8 inches. More technical information about it may well drop in the coming months.
