The 9to5Google site has obtained new information on the Google Pixel Watch. What to learn more about its characteristics and the existence of a second processor.
This month, Google finally put an end to the suspense by confirming the existence of its very first connected watch, the Google Pixel Watch, designed in partnership with Fitbit. If the Mountain View firm has confirmed its existence, revealed some information and revealed its design, it has however been relatively stingy with technical information.
It must be said that the Google Pixel Watch 7 will not be officially launched until next fall, at the same time as the Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro. Until then, Google intends to reveal certain information to the account, before a formal presentation at the start of the school year.
It was without counting on the indiscretions of 9to5Google. In an article posted online this Friday, the site specializing in Google news has indeed unveiled certain features expected on the Google Pixel Watch. What not only confirm that the Google watch will indeed ship the Exynos 9110 chip – the same that powered the Samsung Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 – but also to provide more information on the other characteristics of the knocker. According to new information from 9to5Google, the Pixel Watch would benefit from a second processor, in addition to the Exynos 9110. This would be used to manage certain tasks directly, without them being processed by the Samsung processor.
32 GB of storage and an unprecedented RAM memory on a connected watch
On the memory side, we can expect significant storage on the Pixel Watch with up to 32 GB. Enough to allow users to download many files to their watch, including music via YouTube Music. RAM would also be present in force and, according to 9to5Google, we would find “more RAM than on any current connected watch”. The American site reminds us that RAM generally solves many performance problems on Wear OS watches.
Last point addressed by 9to5Google: health measures. The specialized site draws a parallel between the heart rate sensor of the Pixel Watch and those of the Fitbit Charge 5 and Fitbit Luxe of its subsidiary. We would indeed find an identical design. Enough to confirm that the Google Pixel Watch would not only measure the heart rate, but also the oxygen saturation in the blood and even the electrocardiogram.
However, it will be necessary to wait for confirmation of all this information. The Google Pixel Watch should indeed be launched in the fall and should therefore be presented in detail next September.
