- There is a new section in the Play Store where developers must provide certain information.
Data protection is becoming increasingly important. For this reason, Apple developed the “Privacy Labels”. These should show how your data is processed by apps. Google is now following suit. There is now a new “Data Security” section in the Google Play Store.
As the manufacturer reports in its own blog, developers must state for what purpose your data is stored, whether it is sent to third parties and how your data is protected after it has been recorded.

You can view and delete the activity data collected by Google about you on a special page. This is how you use the important tool.
Manufacturers of an application can provide the following information in the section:
- Whether data is stored and for what purpose.
- Whether your data will be passed on.
- Which security measures the app offers: Is your data encrypted and can you request the deletion of your data.
- Whether the security measures are based on a standard (e.g. MASVS).
Developers have until July 20 to save this information for their apps. The new section will be shown to you immediately.
