After six years, Google is once again adjusting its Play Store. After the web version has already been given a new look, it is now the turn of the logo for the app store. This is now more in line with the design of other Google products.

Google Play Store gets new logo
Google last redesigned the logo for the Play Store in 2016, now it follows Redesign for the app and the web version. Compared to the existing symbol, however, there have not been any really big changes. Some users will hardly notice the newly designed logo. Differences can only be seen in the details. It is still a triangle in Google colors.
In contrast to the predecessor, the Rounded corners of the icon been. The colors show that the blue and green parts are darker than they were before. In addition, the proportion of the four colors has been slightly adjusted, although the blue part continues to dominate the logo.

Officially, Google has not yet commented on the design changes. The new logo has not yet appeared either in the app or in the web version of the Play Store. Just a small variant can be seen on Google Pay, when a payment is processed through the Play Store (Source: 9to5Google). It also remains unclear when exactly Google carried out the redesign.

At the end of May 2022, Google had a new design for the web version of his Play Store released worldwide. Now white space dominates and there is an easy way to filter for apps for phones, tablets, TVs and Chromebooks. The previously prominently placed search can only be reached via a button on the top right-hand edge.
Also the Detail view of apps was changed in the course of the redesign. The average rating, the number of previous downloads and the age rating can now be found at the top.
