(Boursier.com) — Google (Alphabet) would get closer to the release of “Gemini”, a new conversational AI intended to compete with OpenAI’s now essential ChatGPT. Thus, according to the site ‘The Information’, Californian Google has given a small group of companies access to a first version of its highly anticipated conversational artificial intelligence software. The information site is based on information provided by three people with direct knowledge of the subject. By giving external developers access to the software, known as Gemini, Google would prepare for its incorporation into its consumer services and its marketing to businesses via its cloud unit.

Gemini would therefore be intended to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4 model, which has started to generate significant revenue for the startup, as financial institutions and other companies now pay to access the model and the famous ChatGPT chatbot that it feeds.
