Who will be able to see the total eclipse of April 8, 2024?

Metropolitan France will not be able to see this eclipse, but it will be partial from French Polynesia and almost total from Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, as recalled by the Institute of Celestial Mechanics and Ephemeris Calculation (IMCCE).

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, from our perspective on Earth.

That of April 8 will last 5 hours and 10 minutes, including 3 hours and 16 minutes for the central phase.

As a reminder, you should never look at the sun with the naked eye, even with sunglasses, which give a false sense of security and protection. However, you can watch the Google animation without risk.
