The Play Store is testing a new feature to better manage the installation of applications on Chromebook, GoogleTV and Android, whether on smartphones or tablets.
Google is testing a new feature according to the Twitter account AssembleDebug. This feature can be seen in action in a video screenshot posted in a tweet.

The principle could not be simpler: buttons appear in the Play Store allowing you to switch from one version of the app to another. We see the version for smartphone, but also that for tablet, for GoogleTV and for ChromeBook.
What’s the point ?
If that doesn’t seem quite right yet, you’ll notice in the video that the screenshots change depending on the device selected. This is already a good first point that allows you to stick more to the intended experience for anyone who wants to install an app. Also, app rating, reviews, number of downloads, everything fits.
Also, it will better manage a fleet of different Google devices. For the moment, everything goes through a drop-down menu located next to the installed button, but this is not necessarily an example of ergonomics, many users completely missing it.
