The next version of the Google interface for connected watches
is clarified through some screenshots.
To discover WearOS 3 in its raw version, not disguised by Samsung’s OneUi overlay as for the Galaxy Watch 4, you will probably have to wait until next May, the possible launch month of the Google Pixel Watch. In the meantime, the American giant has added a few screenshots to the Wear Os companion application available on the PlayStore. These shots, spotted by the journalists of 9to5Googlegive a small overview of the “raw” interface and features of WearOS 3.
Google Assistant and a very “Fitbitian” step counter
One of the screenshots shows the Google Assistant integration. The smart personal assistant service inquires how it can help the user. A circle appears in the background, with at the bottom of the dial, the four emblematic colors of Google (blue, red, yellow and green). As for the time, it is displayed at the top.
Another image depicts the integration of the daily step counter. There is a basketball icon identical to that used on FitBit devices. Recall that Alphabet acquired the brand in 2019.
Google Messages, Google Calendar, YouTube Music, and Google Pay
Other captures reveal the interfaces of Google Messages and Google Calendar. The information is displayed clearly in both cases: photo, name of the sender / recipient and messages exchanged for Google Messages; date, time, locations and appointment description for Google Calendar.
The last two previews are for the YouTube Music and Google Pay apps.
YouTube Music displays the title and name of the singer/band currently playing. The central button is used to pause playback, the side buttons to restart the track or to scroll through others. An icon allows you to adjust the volume. Apparently, the “like” button (thumbs up) is present, but not the “dislike” button.
Regarding Google Pay, not much to say, except that the registered card is right in the center of the dial.
The Mountain View giant could detail WearOS during Google I/O 2022 which will take place on May 11 and 12.
