It’s done, the new Google Chromecast is now available on the manufacturer’s official store. And it is well sold for less than 40 euros, precisely at 39.99 euros. This is a cheaper version than the one launched in 2020 (at 69.99 euros), because Google has made some concessions regarding the display.
Cheaper, but fewer options?
Google’s new Chromecast keeps the same objective as its old version: to transform any television into a smart TV and replace its interface with that of Android to allow the user to access their favorite applications and content from their television. .
The only difference, which justifies this more affordable price, is that this new version allows you to enjoy this content only in Full HD HDR and in 60 Hz. In other words, no 4K HDR at 60 FPS, unlike the top model range released in September 2020 and sold at 69.99 euros.
Beyond this concession on the display, all the advantages are there. Even the design of the remote control and the HDMI box remained intact.
Features of the new Chromecast
With the absence of 4K, it seems the new Chromecast was designed for older TV models. In any case, the remote control allows users to access more than 6,500 applications from their TV: Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, etc.
In addition, all the features of the Chromecast 4K version are available on this new, less expensive model:
