Version 13.40 of the Google application – in beta – allows you to customize your widget in a click and in a very simple way, according to the findings of 9to5Google.
Widgets have existed for several years on Android, before Apple came to sublimate their integration on iOS 14 in 2020. Since then, many efforts in this area have been made on our software interfaces. For its part, Google still wants to refine the experience with a little novelty under development.
The media 9to5Google has indeed unearthed a new feature in the beta of the Google application, version 13.40. The idea is simple: in the idea, you could have leeway to customize the integrated Google search bar in widget mode. To do this, a small click is enough.
Color, Transparency and Shape
According 9to5Google, all you have to do is keep pressing the widget in question to see a “Edit” button appear. By clicking on it, several customization options will be displayed on the lower part of your interface: it is for example possible to change the color of the Google logo.
Also, playing with the corners of the widget (rounded, more rectangular) would be one of the possibilities. The background color of the widget could also be modified, as could its transparency via a slider system. In short, the idea is to configure this widget in its image or so as to bring even more harmony to its system.
To validate everything, all you have to do is click on the “Validate” button located at the top right. If in doubt, a “Reset” tab would also be included. For the moment, this novelty is only available in beta. It is unclear whether or not Google wants to reserve it for these Pixel phones only, although there is no reason to think so.
