On Android, Google Pixel users can download an application called Personal Security from the manufacturer’s official store. In a recent test version of the Personal Safety app, Google added the ability to use your Pixel phone as a dash cam. In one of the sections, as discovered by the site 9to5Google, users will soon be able to find the Dashcam functionality there. This will allow you to record up to 24 hours of video. These will then be compressed (about 30 MB per minute), so as to preserve as much storage space as possible on your device before being deleted three days later, unless you want to save them.
Note that you can configure the feature so that it starts recording each time you connect to a Bluetooth device, such as your car’s audio station. Your Pixel will be able to sync with your driving habits so you don’t have to start or turn off the dashboard manually.
