The American giant thus wishes to make its products more durable, and to simplify repairs in ” DIY – do it yourself ”, via iFixit.
Pixel repair made easy
Recently, Samsung announced to join the iFixit program, aimed at allowing users to simply repair their smartphone by themselves. Today, it is the giant Google which joins this philosophy, and the latter will offer various spare parts for its Pixel smartphones.
A program that will allow owners of a Pixel smartphone to order, for example, a battery, a screen or a sensor, in order to repair their precious phone. The other good news is that this concerns the recent Pixel 6, but also the old models, up to the Pixel 2 of 2017.
Repair kits available
Google specifies that the various spare parts for its Pixel smartphones will be sold at the same time individually and in “repair kits”. These will include all the tools needed to carry out the repairs. Parts will be for sale directly from iFixit.
