Google is preparing to announce new high-end smartphones, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, in just a few days. Before their official presentation, we already know their prices in different countries, but above all their complete technical sheet.
The famous leaker Kamila Wojciechowska has just lifted the veil on the entire technical sheet of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, but also detailed Google’s promises regarding software tracking. The good news is that both smartphones will benefit from no less than 7 years of updates this time.
Currently, Google only offers 3 years of major Android updates and 5 years of security updates on its newest Pixels. The company is therefore not one of the bad performers, but is not in the lead when it comes to software monitoring either. By moving to 7 years of updates, Google will therefore offer two additional years of monitoring on its next Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. This is as much as Fairphone promises on its latest device. However, it is currently unclear whether the smartphones will receive 4 or 5 years of Android updates.
What’s new for the Pixel 8 technical sheet?
Apart from the new Tensor G3 chip which we had already detailed in a previous article, the report published by 91mobiles reveals new developments regarding the technical specifications of smartphones. For example, we now know that The Pixel 8 will weigh only 187 grams, compared to 213 grams for the Pixel 8 Pro.

Google also plans to improve the 120 Hz OLED screens of smartphones, since that of Pixel 8 will reach no less than 2000 nits, while the Pixel 8 Pro will go up to 2400 nits. The report also confirms the increase in the capacity of batteries at 4575 mAh and 5050 mAhrespectively, as well as the arrival of Wi-Fi 7.
Google will raise prices, but not for everyone
As usual, Google has just accidentally revealed the prices of its next Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. @Za_Raczke also discovered that the American giant had published a summary sheet of everything you need to know about its Pixel 8 and 8 Pro on its Pixel for Business page, including their prices.
According to Google, the Pixel 8 will retail for $699 in the United States. That’s $100 more than the previous Pixel 7. For its part, the Pixel 8 Pro will surprisingly be sold at the same price as the previous generation: $899. Only a small difference of 200 dollars now separates the two models. However, not all countries, including France, will have the right to the same treatment.
The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will see their prices increase in France
As the famous leaker billbil-kun revealed on Dealabs, we must expect a sharp increase in prices in France. According to his information, which always proves to be very reliable, the Pixel 8 will be sold here from 799 euros. This is a strong increase compared to the Pixel 7, which was sold for only 599 euros.
For its part, the Pixel 8 Pro will also see its price soar, unlike in the United States. The Pixel 7 Pro was offered at “only” 799 euros, but you will have to pay no less than 1099 euros in France. This is therefore the largest increase to date on Pixel smartphones.
The UK will not be spared from these increases either, since according to Roland Quandt on 8 Pro is £999 (£849 for the 7 Pro). At the same time, the base price of the Pixel Watch 2 would be £349 (up from £339 today), a more minimal increase. It remains to be seen what price increase is planned in France for the watch.
