The latest Android 13 beta gives us a new look at the Pixel Tablet.

While a Pro version of the Pixel Tablet is already in preparation, Google has just released images allowing us to see its future tablet a little closer.

The Pixel Tablet shows up in Android 13

These are once again the teams of 9to5Google who spotted the presence of new clues about the Pixel Tablet. In the latest beta version of the Android 13 quarterly update, they could see two new animations showing signs of life of the device.

In the first animation, we can see the Pixel Tablet being docked on its stand. A quick loading time then appears before giving way to the Google Assistant logo. In the second animation, this time it is possible to see the tablet’s lock screen when it is in “Proximity Sharing” mode. This reveals a split screen layout, with the digital clock on the left and the notifications on the right.

As is visible on the animations, we can thus notice that the Pixel Tablet can simply slip into its support without needing to be connected in USB-C thanks to the Pogo pins present on the back.

The Pixel Tablet can be used as a Nest Hub

In addition to these animations, Google has also shared some interesting information about the “docked” mode. So we learn that it will be possible to stream music and videos from your smartphone to the Pixel tablet, as would be possible with a Nest Hub or a Chromecast, without having to unlock it. In addition, it will also be possible to customize the elements displayed on the screen when it is positioned on its dock (clock faces, images from the Google Photos library, etc.).

With the arrival of Android 12L, Google once again began to take the tablet market seriously, which it had suddenly abandoned in 2015 when it decided to no longer offer new hardware. Now, by relaunching its own range of Android tablets, the giant seems more determined than ever to want to take its share of the pie. As a reminder, the Pixel Tablet is expected for 2023, without further details for the moment.
