GoPro launches new editing software: GoPro Player + ReelSteady

In 2020, the American action-cam manufacturer GoPro acquired ReelSteady, a publisher recognized in the film industry for its post-production features. For the new version of its in-house Player editing software, the Californian firm adds new functions for stabilizing and processing 360° videos from previous ReelSteady programs.

Easy post-production stabilization

Available on Mac and Windows, this new iteration allows you to apply stabilization in real time from the editing table, even on an unstabilized sequence. ReelSteady is now compatible with most GoPro stabilization modes, including HyperSmooth.

We can also crop and export 360° videos more easily for social networks. Likewise, it will be possible to correct the distortions of the GoPro Max camera lens.

Price and availability

The new GoPro Player + ReelSteady software is available now on the manufacturer’s website. It will cost you €100. Those who already own the ReelSteady GO app can use their activation key to get a free upgrade to the new app.
