After Novak Djokovic, his trainer Goran Ivanisevic has also been infected with the corona virus on the sharply criticized Adria tour.
The Adriatic tour, specially organized by professional tennis player Novak Djokovic (33), has developed into a single farce. Several tennis professionals became infected with the corona virus in the course of the invitation tournament – including Djokovic himself. This was announced by the world number one on Tuesday on his official website. According to this, his wife Jelena also became infected, while the children together were negative when they arrived in their home country Belgrade.
Now the Serbian coach has been hit: Goran Ivanisevic (48), himself a former professional player on the ATP tour, tested positive for Covid-19. The 2001 Wimbledon winner announced this on Friday via Instagram. "Unfortunately, after two negative tests in the past ten days, I just got the result of the third test, and that's positive," said the Croatian. He feels good so far and shows no symptoms.
Tennis tournament becomes a super spreader
Ivanisevic was also one of the organizers of the Adriatic tour, which had been sharply criticized for its supposedly unsafe organization and a video of gamers celebrating without hesitation. In addition to Djokovic, the players Grigor Dimitrov (29, Bulgaria), Borna Coric (23, Croatia) and Viktor Troicki (34, Serbia) were previously reported as infected.
