What is Gotham Knights about?
To begin, let’s come back to a point that does not seem to be known to everyone: Nope, Gotham Knights is not the continuation of the series Arkham, even if his pitch may make you think so. The developers made it clear that it wasanother universe, so a whole new story.

But the main threat comes to us from the Court of Owlsa secret organization that controls Gotham from the shadows.
Who are the villains of Gotham Knights?
The Court of Owls appeared for the very first time ten years ago, in the comics of the same name imagined by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. We followed Batman on the trail of a mysterious owl-like assassin, who was stalking Bruce Wayne to assassinate him, until we discovered this mysterious group which had control over Gotham for years. generations.
This choice for Gotham Knights therefore makes sense and is perfect for a Batman game, since the Court of Owls has soldiers called the Spikes which can easily be tweaked to serve as both a small fry and a boss for the game, although the big boss fights will no doubt be linked to super-villains like Mr Freezewhich we saw in the first gameplay video, or even The Penguin.

Nightwing has a fighting style that is very flexible, as he uses his acrobatic abilities to flip around, while using his electric batons to stun his opponents. It’s a bit the same with Robin who will use a long detachable stick to fight, while Batgirl can also use nunchaku-style sticks.
Finally, the most apart in the band is Red Hood, who will use his non-lethal firearms to fight both from afar and up close. He can also count on his powers linked to his resurrection via the Well of Lazarus, which is quite new for the character. And since the game sometimes allows us to have several characters in combat at the same time, we can also perform duo finish-moves.
Gotham’s Greatest City Ever Created
The game will also take up the infiltration aspect with areas to clean without getting caught, and we can also count on a whole bunch of ancillary activities to perform throughout Gotham, which will be the largest city of Gotham ever represented in a game. , and which will therefore be larger than the map ofArkham Knight.
To move through this huge city, several means of transport will be available, like the Bat-motorcycle which will be accessible for the four characters. We will even be entitled to chase sequences with the latter, which remind us a little of those found in recent games. Spiderman.
Each hero will also have their own way of moving through the city. Nightwing can for example use a motorized glider to gain verticality, while Red Hood will use his powers to make super-jumps. Batgirl should be closer to Batman style, with her cape and grappling hook, and Robin uses a teleportation system.

We don’t really know how we can change heroes on the fly, but it was clarified that all missions would be playable with the character you preferso there is plenty to do in terms of replayability.

Or, we can also do them in co-op, because the game will be playable up to two people, a priori in its entirety. This means that you can walk around Gotham with your friends, and do the missions together.
But beware, that does not mean that it should immediately be compared to a Marvel’s Avengersbecause Gotham Knights is not a service game at all. The game is not expected to evolve considerably over time, and will not receive a priori special events as is the case in games of the genre.
