THQ Nordic has always been very open about his desire to develop a remake of gothiceven going so far as to publish a demo designed by Alkimia Interactive to gauge player interest. The community responded positively, confirming the publisher’s desire to continue the project to release it on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
He has just been entitled to a new very dark cinematic as part of the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase, just to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere. Still no gameplay in sight, because it seems that the end of the tunnel is still far enough.
The kingdom of Myrtana is invaded by a ruthless horde of orcs. Needing a large quantity of magic ores in order to forge weapons of great power against the invaders, King Rhobar II decides to put all the prisoners of the kingdom to work in the mines of Khorinis. In order to prevent any escape, the monarch asks his best magicians to create a magic barrier around the mines. But due to an incident, the magic soon spirals out of control and a mutiny breaks out among the prisoners, creating anarchy where the most dangerous then take control of the mines.
The king now finds himself forced to negotiate with these new chiefs, while tension rises among the various factions within the mines. No one suspected that the arrival of a mysterious prisoner was going to change everything.
