(Boursier.com) — In the 1st half of the 2022/2023 financial year, the turnover of Voltz Seeds amounted to 76.6 million euros, up 0.9% on a current basis, and down -4.4% on a like-for-like basis compared to the first half of the previous year. As expected, the 2nd quarter (January to March) is affected by the economic context and weather conditions.

Over the half-year, 65.4% of sales were generated in France, 30.2% in other European countries and 4.35% in the rest of the world.
Seeds accounted for 38.3% of turnover, young plants for 59.2%, and other products for 2.4%.

Outlook

Graines Voltz confirms its outlook for the year. Given the level of activity in the last quarter and the uncertain context in which the group operates (inflation and weather), Graines Voltz continues to anticipate relative stability in activity over the fiscal year on a current basis, and a decline in activity on a like-for-like basis, barring further unforeseeable deterioration in the coming months.

In accordance with its strategy of concentrating its distribution activity, particularly in Europe, Graines Voltz announces that it has sold all the shares it held in its Algerian subsidiary Topsem. This operation will have a negative impact of approximately €1.2 million on the financial statements for the year.

“In this exceptionally unfavorable context in our sector, which has suffered three major crises in 12 months, it is clear that our group is showing good resilience compared to other players in our sector of activity. Thanks to the improvement of the Young Plants/Seeds mix and our ability to adapt the varietal offer, we are managing to contain the effects of these crises and to record only a slight drop in our turnover”, notes Serge Voltz , Chairman and CEO of Graines Voltz.
