During the Grammy Awards ceremony which took place on Sunday April 3, 2022, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, intervened in a recorded speech. He asked artists to support Ukraine in the face of Russian invasion.

In a video recorded address, he asked them to support his people invaded by Russia. “Dead silence. Fill this silence with your music“, he thus launched, freezing the room of the Grammy Awards. “Tell the truth about the war, on your social networks, on TV. Support us in any way you can, all but silence. And then comes peace“, launched President Zelensky again. Once again, he was dressed in his khaki t-shirt.
He then spoke of the situation of artists in Ukraine who did not hesitate to take up arms. “Our musicians wear bulletproof vests instead of tuxedos. They sing for the wounded in the hospitals, even for those who cannot hear them. Corn the music will still be heard“, continued the Head of State of Ukraine. He recalled that his country was fighting for the values common to all artists, namely: the freedom to live and love.

Once his speech was over, singer John Legend took the stage before being joined by two Ukrainian artists, Mika Newton and Lyuba Yakimchukt. A great moment of emotion. Once again, the president at war managed to touch the hearts of his listeners. He had already done so on March 23, 2022 by addressing French deputies and senators. He had asked for help from France to put an end to this conflict.
