The Grammy Awards have caused quite a stir recently. It is now known that Beyoncé, who has been nominated nine times, will not appear.

On Monday night, the Grammy Awards will again be presented from 02:00 a.m. German time. Superstar Beyoncé (39, "Crazy In Love") is one of the absolute favorites and tops the list of nominations with nine entries. However, as is now known, she will not appear in the award show.

Harvey Mason (52), interim head of the Recording Academy, which is responsible for the Grammys, told the Los Angeles Times: "This is unfortunate because it is such a large part of the Recording Academy." In any case, one would have wished that Beyoncé would perform. A surprise appearance is not planned. Mason is well aware that she won't sing that might seem strange to viewers. Even a rumored appearance by Adele (32) is not planned.

Uproar over Grammys

The Weeknd (31), who had previously expressed criticism because he had not been nominated, had recently announced in an interview with the "New York Times" that it would boycott the Grammys in the future. He had instructed his label not to submit his music for a nomination anymore. The Grammys committee has long been heavily criticized for being biased and tendentious.

"Fucks the Grammys and everyone involved," said Zayn Malik (28) meanwhile recently posted on Twitter and also annoyed about not being nominated. "If you don't shake hands and send gifts, they don't consider nominating you." And Justin Bieber (27) will apparently neither appear nor be seen on the show, according to a US media report. He had thanked him for being nominated, but at the same time was surprised that his record "Changes" would be listed as a pop and not an R&B album.
