Gran Turismo 7: Inaccessible for hours, the game is controversial following a patch that would increase the grind

When Gran Turismo 7 was presented to the press, the famous in-game store was not yet available, probably so that the tests did not mention it (our test was also updated following its appearance). This has been the cause of a fairly strong controversy around the game, which is not likely to fade since the patch 1.07 adds fuel to the fire.

We shouldn’t be too generous, let’s see

Due to its mandatory connection, Gran Turismo 7 has been unplayable for many hoursfollowing a maintenance which was supposed to solve a problem on the last patch 1.07. The maintenance time has therefore been extended accordingly.

But the patch note for this version came out immediately, and The Verge broke it down to understand the reactions of disgruntled fans. If we note the arrival of a mode to remove all licensed musicwhich is handy to avoid punishment while streaming the game, Polyphony would also have changed the rewards obtained in certain races.

The game sets up a virtual currency that can be obtained by shopping, or by directly taking out the real blue card with real money. This already poses grind concerns for most, and this is likely to increase. On Reddit, some users have noticed that the rewards obtained on certain races have visibly decreased. Inevitably, this tends to push players to spend more real money in the game to compensate for this, which is detrimental.

It remains to be seen if version 1.08 will change this again, when the game is back, and if this drop is confirmed or not.
