A new update is available for the game Gran Turismo 7.
The latter brings various new features, including a PS VR2 mode, but also a new AI “ superhuman and revolutionary “.
Sophy joins the game!
At the launch of Gran Turismo 7, Sony had formalized a new form of AI, called Gran Turismo (GT) Sophy. The latter is an autonomous AI agent trained using a new deep reinforcement learning platform developed in collaboration by Sony AI, Polyphony Digital and SIE.
To develop this more realistic and aggressive AI while being perfectly respectful of the codes of good conduct, Sony AI has analyzed a lot of data, virtual and real, to create virtual pilots capable of achieving ” superhuman performance …and beat any human pilot.
Time-limited availability
Today the game Gran Turismo 7 welcomes a brand new 1.29 update. This allows the game signed Polyphony Digital to welcome a new circuit, with the return of Grand Valley, but also 5 additional vehicles, not to mention new features on the Scapes side.
Moreover, Gran Turismo 7 becomes compatible with the very recent PlayStation VR2, and this, on all the races and game modes in solo. Players can also access the exclusive “Showroom VR” section of their garage or in-game dealerships.
But this 1.29 update also marks the arrival of the artificial intelligence GT Sophy. The new “Gran Turismo Sophy – Run Together” mode allows players to Gran Turismoall levels and skills combined, to rub shoulders with this AI announced as “ superhuman and revolutionary “.
The mode allows players to race against GT Sophy on four increasingly challenging circuits, as a Novice, Intermediate or Expert driver. In each of the four races, you have to face four GT Sophy with different levels of performance.
This new game mode is accessible at the top right of the World Map, once you reach Collector Level 6. Also note that this is a limited time event, available now until the end of March.
