Gran Turismo Sport is at the end of its run, Polyphony Digital announces some very bad news

License Gran Turismo is doing well with the launch of a live-action feature film this summer and regular updates for Gran Turismo 7 the latest of which has just been launched. However, it is very bad news that we learn this Friday and which concerns Gran Turismo Sport, the PS4 episode released in 2017 and who was entitled to content until July 2021. Indeed, after almost six years of good and loyal service, Polyphony Digital announcement the closure of its servers for the beginning of next year, dated January 31, 2024. The sale of the game and its DLC will also be stopped from December 1, 2023… Many features and content will therefore no longer be accessible after these dates, which is not reassuring for the future of the license since GT7 It definitely requires a mandatory connection even solo.

Gran Turismo Sport – End of online services

The software’s online services exclusively on PlayStation 4 Gran Turismo Sport will end on January 31, 2024 at 7:00 a.m. CET. Starting December 1, 2023, we will also discontinue the sale of downloadable content on PlayStation Store.

After the service termination date, it will no longer be possible to use online services such as Community, Open Lounge, as well as Sport mode, nor online features/elements, such as custom liveries. The offline sections of the game will remain playable, including all previously purchased downloadable content.

Thank you to all Gran Turismo Sport online users who have supported us since its launch in 2017. Starting today, we will focus on improving Gran Turismo 7 online services on the PlayStation 4 system and PlayStation 5 console.

What will happen to the cars in my garage and my career progression?

All existing cars and custom settings of cars kept in the garage will be accessible. Progressing in the game remains necessary to unlock additional cars and items.

What will happen to my liveries after online services stop on January 31, 2024?

As Discover requires an online connection, it will no longer be possible to access personalized vehicle liveries, helmets or racing suits.

Will I have access to all world circuits?

Will I still be able to purchase downloadable content from PlayStation Store?
